La primera compilaci?ow fue publicado en 1983 y recog?a 30 Hit-Singles del Reino Unido de ese mismo a?en un doble LP de Vynilo o en Cassette. El concepto de compilaci?e grandes ?tos no era nuevo; Ronco y K-tel fueron creando ?os discos con singles de los '70. Debido a que el Now ten?mejor calidad de sonido, y esta recogido en dos formatos, y era hecho por grandes compa? discogr?cas, goz? mucho m??to que sus competidores. En los '80, el disco compiti?n la compilaci?e Warner «The Hits Album», que era un formato similar al del Now, pero, a finales de los '80, el disco de Warner fracas?or lo que no se hicieron m?discos.
El Now es ya un s?olo en el Reino Unido, convirti?ose en un icono de la cultura. Muchos deciden hacer colecciones con todos los Now, y, a pesar de que muchos ya no est?en las tiendas, muchos encuentran los primeros Now's en tiendas Online, como Ebay.
A pesar de los numerosos cambios en las fechas de publicaci?e las compilaciones Now, el disco se ha decidido crear tres por a?uno sobre Semana Santa, otro durante el Verano y el tercero en Navidades. Now That's What I Call Music! 68 fue publicado el 19 de Noviembre de 2007. Los discos tienen en total m?de 40 ?tos.
El Now con m??to hasta el momento fue Now That's What I Call Music! 57, que vendi?0,000 unidades en su primera semana de ventas, debido a que inclu?los ?tos de Sophie Ellis-Bextor «I Won't Change You, Kylie Minogue «Red Blooded Woman», Britney Spears «Toxic», Jamelia «Thank You», Black Eyed Peas «Shut Up» Sugababes «Too Lost in You» o Justin Timberlake «I'm Lovin' It», entre otros.
